nbcf CALLS FOR APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING
The trustees of the Nelson Bays Community Foundation (NBCF) are delighted to announce that funds are once again available for distribution to registered charities within the Nelson Tasman region.
NBCF invests money raised from donations, bequests and endowments and distributes the income earned back into the community. Launched in March 2010, their initial focus has been on introducing and promoting the organisation to the community while growing their funding pool. This year, the Foundation has twice the amount available as in the inaugural round last year, highlighting the organisation’s investment portfolio providing excellent returns:
Last year’s call for applications resulted in over one hundred received. “That gave us a great insight into the needs of the Nelson Bays’ community,” comments Chair, John Rollston. “We appreciate the time spent by all those applicants last year, and as such, they need not apply in full again this year unless their circumstances or initiative for which they are applying has changed greatly. We will include their submission from last year in our deliberations.”
NBCF is committed to supporting registered charities whose activities are focused on the Tasman District and Nelson City geographic areas and encompass the following areas: Community and social services; sport and recreation; music, art and culture or festivals and events that benefit the community.
